Interview 18: Watermen’s Way with Ms. Jane Currier

Historic Buildings, Interviews, Local Residents

Yes, it’s Monday and we usually post the interview episode on a Wednesday. But I thought it might be a perfect time to have this interview follow last Friday’s Episode 61: The Currier Collection.

Ms. Jane Currier is a local treasure. As with many Havre de Grace residents, the Currier family history begins in this country in 1648. We shared some of those details earlier. In this video, we listen to Jane share stories of the neighborhood where she grew up.

As she describes the history and architecture of the surrounding neighborhood homes in this 2011 interview, listen carefully. You, too, might hear the geese, and the low chatter of the fishermen as Jane does. Enjoy the story.

We certainly hope to visit Jane again for more stories of The Currier Family and its rich history!

And always REMEMBER, don’t throw the Havre de Grace ‘stuff’ out when you’re cleaning out a home, settling an estate, or just ‘downsizing,’ without checking in with George. Don’t give him cause to cry!!!

Our ‘casual historian’ is always waiting for your stories and any memorabilia you may want to share.
